Corporate Responsibility’s Best Corporate Citizens

Owens Corning was #43 on Corporate Responsibility Magazine's annual list of 100 Best Corporate Citizens. (In 2015, the company ranked 68th; in 2014, unranked.) Companies on the list are ranked in seven categories: environment, employee relations, climate change, human rights, community support, financial performance and governance.

EPA Energy Star Partner of the Year

Owens Corning was recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with a 2016 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year – Energy Management Award. The award highlights the company’s efforts to improve the energy efficiency of its domestic facilities

2020 Women on Boards

Owens Corning was recognized by 2020 Women on Boards for having 25 percent women on its board. The goal of the 2020 Women on Boards campaign, which began in 2010, is to raise the percentage of women on corporate boards in the United States to 20 percent or more by the year 2020

Forbes America’s Best Employers

Owens Corning ranked 138th among 500 employers on the Forbes list of America's Best Employers for 2016. Forbes surveyed more than 30,000 workers at corporations, universities, and government agencies that employ 5,000 or more. The survey asked people about the likelihood of recommending their employer to others, as well as how they felt about other employers in their industry.

RobecoSAM Annual Sustainability Yearbook

Owens Corning was named the industry leader in the building products sector of the 2016 RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook. The yearbook looks at companies’ sustainability performance across a number of factors, including volunteerism, energy and emissions reduction, production efficiency, collaboration with customers and suppliers, and talent development. Owens Corning earned a gold class rating for the third year in a row.

Chief Executive Magazine’s Best Companies for Leaders

Owens Corning was recognized as a global leader in leadership development, according to Chief Executive magazine. Owens Corning ranked 11th on the 2016 Best Companies for Leaders list. Criteria included CEO commitment to leadership development, depth of the leadership bench (percent of senior and middle management positions filled internally), and shareholder value performance

Vault’s 50 Best Internships

Owens Corning ranked 27th on the list of the top 50 internships in the United States, according to a national assessment of employers and interns by Vault.com. About 600 organizations were invited to participate in the survey, which also included ratings and reviews by 5,800 interns on factors such as quality of life, compensation and benefits, career development and full-time employment prospects.

Corporate Equality Index

Owens Corning received a perfect score on the 2016 Corporate Equality Index. The CEI is published by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, which works to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. Owens Corning’ employee-led affinity groups work to advance the company's commitment to inclusiveness – African American Resource Group, Connections, GLBTA, Multicultural Network, and Women's Information Network.

Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

In 2015, for the sixth year in a row, Owens Corning earned placement in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index in recognition of its sustainability initiatives. The DJSI World Index is an elite listing of the top 10 percent of the world’s 2,500 largest companies based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria. For the third straight year, Owens Corning was also named the industry leader for the DJSI World Building Products group.

Computerworld’s 2015 Best Places to Work

The editorial team of Computerworld compiled the 100 Best Places to Work in IT based on organizations’ offerings such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. The annual list also factors in results from an employee satisfaction survey. In 2015, Owens Corning ranked 7th in the Large Organizations category.

2014 Green Cross for Safety Medal

Owens Corning received the highest honor of the National Safety Council, the 2014 Green Cross for Safety medal. NSC presents the award annually to an organization with outstanding safety performance and a commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities where its employees work and live.
